A ticker is not a network

A crypto transfer needs a supported asset, the correct blockchain network and the recipient’s destination details. Matching an address format alone does not establish that a platform will credit the transfer.

For example, a token can exist on multiple networks. The receiving platform may accept only some of them. Check its current deposit instructions for that exact asset before choosing a withdrawal network.

Before you send

  1. Open the recipient platform’s deposit instructions yourself.
  2. Match the asset and the full network name at both ends.
  3. Check whether a memo or destination tag is required, along with minimum deposits and fees.
  4. Check the copied destination carefully, including after pasting.
  5. Where supported, send a small test above the minimum deposit and confirm receipt before sending more.

Transfers can be difficult or impossible to recover. Never enter a seed phrase to receive funds or trust a stranger offering recovery. A test transfer reduces some operational risks; it does not guarantee safety.

Keep a record

Save the transaction hash, network, amount, date and fees. These records help you trace a transfer and reconcile your crypto activity.
